Dear Pilots,
As a sports federation, we are committed to a safe and doping-free sport and are committed to protecting the ‘Spirit of Sport’. That is the essence of the Olympic idea, which means that we can play sport in a fair way.
As a Belgian (Flemish) sports federation, we are obliged to report our competitions to NADO Vlaanderen. You therefore (also as a “breedtesporter” (= someone who does not participate in sports professionally or at a top level)) fall under the obligations of the anti-doping legislation and you can therefore be tested for doping.
Do not use drugs (including cannabis) and avoid (unknowingly) doping use.
Also be careful with certain medicines and nutritional supplements. These often (in 25% of the cases) contain prohibited substances. So check in advance whether or not the medicine you are taking contains a prohibited substance. You can consult the NADO Vlaanderen medicine checker for this.
Does the medicine you take contain a banned substance? You can request an exception for this. As a “breedtesporter” (= someone who does not participate in sports professionally or at a top level) ), you do not have to apply for a TTN (Permission for Therapeutic Necessity) in advance, but we recommend that you do this in advance anyway.
All information about this can be found on the NADO Flanders website or on the WADA website.
